Our story.

A community-rooted Public Benefit Organisation founded in Eldama Ravine and formally registered on 20 December 2022 — with a stubborn belief that the women closest to a problem are the ones closest to its solution.
Arise & Cross Women Development Programme is a registered Public Benefit Organisation dedicated to sustainable poverty alleviation. We champion economic self-reliance, environmental conservation and social dignity — equipping women, youth and vulnerable communities with the resources they need to thrive. At the heart of our strategy is the power of collective growth: we bring women and youth together into organised community groups, empowering them to pool and mobilise their resources. By training members in effective resource management, we help them build the strong financial foundation and capital required to launch independent small businesses, gain financial independence and support their households.
We work alongside teenage mothers, widows, farm labourers and schoolgirls across five Rift Valley counties. Each intervention is designed with the community first — kitchen-table conversations, ward-level assemblies, and honest budgets.
Our name is our thesis: Arise from what has held you down, Cross the barriers of poverty and stigma, and Develop the strength to bring the next woman with you.
Equip women & girls with skills, dignity and opportunity.
A Kenya where every woman can arise, cross and lead.
